英語の「丁寧さ」を3レベルで使い分ける

「同じお願い」でも、言い方一つで印象はガラッと変わります。英語では “politeness（丁寧さ）” を文法・語彙・声のトーンで調整します。今日は仕事でも日常でも使える“3レベルの言い換え”を軸に、すぐ使える表現とコツをまとめます。

3レベルの言い換え（お願いの例）

Level 1｜カジュアル
“Can you send me the file?”（ファイル送れる？）
Level 2｜ていねい
“Could you send me the file?” / “Can you please send me the file?”
Level 3｜フォーマル・配慮強め
“Would it be possible for you to send me the file?”
“I was wondering if you could send me the file.”

ポイント

“could / would” は距離を少し置く＝柔らかい

“I was wondering if …” は遠回しで丁寧、メールに最適

“please” はカジュアルでも使えるが、位置は文末が自然（命令調に聞こえにくい）

前置き・クッション：“If you have a moment,” “When you get a chance,” “Sorry to bother you, but …”
確認：“Just to confirm,” “Could you clarify …?” “Did I get this right that … ?”
断り・和らげ：“I’m afraid …” “I might have misunderstood, but …”
軽い依頼：“Could you take a quick look at …?” “Could we sync up briefly on …?”

助動詞の選択：can → could、will → would
ソフナー（和らげ語）：just / a bit / maybe / possibly / actually
- 例）“Could you just check a bit earlier?”
主語を自分に寄せる（相手の負担を言語化）
- “It would help me if you could …”
- “I’d appreciate it if …”

BLUFで本題先に（Bottom Line Up Front）
①結論／依頼 → ②背景 → ③アクション・期限
テンプレを自分用に1つ作る“Could you [action] by [time]? It would help me [reason]. Thanks in advance.”
声のトーンも丁寧さ：語尾を上げすぎない、速さを落として区切る
“Could you pause send me the file pause by noon?”

次の日本語を、英語で Level 1 / 2 / 3 に言い分けてください。
